Keelan Westall Shortlisted For Prestigious Industry Award

Recognising Hampshire-based commercial property insurance broker’s exceptional claims function

(4th January 2010) The claims team of Keelan Westall has much to celebrate. As well as receiving excellent results in the latest survey about its claims function, the leading commercial property insurance broker was recently shortlisted for the ‘Claims Team of the Year’ at the prestigious Insurance Day London Market Awards 2009.

Chosen from hundreds of entries, Keelan Westall was the only broker finalist in the category, recognising the team’s exceptional claims handling skills.

The event, which was held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, honoured the best in the industry with awards presented by guest speaker MP Robert Marshall Andrews.

Ben Wright, Head of Business at Keelan Westall, comments: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for this award. Although we did not win, we were the only broker to reach the final stages in our category. This is the first year we have entered the awards, so to get this far is a real achievement and testimony to the excellence of our in-house claims team.”

Committed to delivering the highest standards of service, Keelan Westall has implemented a number of initiatives to further increase the speed and efficiency of its claims handling process. These include a new diary system and intensive training programmes for staff, along with delegated authority to validate and pay claims on behalf of insurers.

“Our philosophy has always been to provide a first class service to our clients,” explains Sue Regan, Claims Manager. “Our claims team is dedicated to ensuring each claim is dealt with as efficiently as possible in a courteous and professional manner.

“We regularly conduct surveys about our claims function in order to constantly improve our service. The latest of which revealed all respondents were either satisfied or very satisfied with the service we provided.”

Judges of the ‘Claims Team of the Year’ category focused on the skill of establishing claims paying processes, including transparency and service to the client, speed of payment, elimination of expense costs and innovation in the claims paying processes.

Keelan Westall offers a wide range of innovative and flexible commercial property insurance solutions for the retail, leisure, offices and industrial markets. Binding authority agreements with six major blue chip insurers – Axa, Allianz, Brit, Norwich Union, R&SA and Zurich - enables the company to provide cover for a broad range of risks, as well as offer a truly competitive service and wider fair market analysis.
