Keelan Westall hits Fundraising Target
Leading commercial property insurance broker raises £10,000 for children’s hospice
(6th January 2010) Hampshire-based commercial property insurance broker Keelan Westall, continues to hit target, this time, raising a record £10,000 during 2009 for its chosen charity Naomi House Children’s Hospice at Sutton Scotney near Winchester.
This latest fundraising effort takes the company’s total raised to date to over £50,000 for the local charity, which provides much needed respite and terminal care, plus bereavement support for children and their families from across the south of England.
Over the last twelve months, Keelan Westall has staged various fundraising events from quiz nights, golf days and charity auctions to smaller activities such as cake bakes and competitions.
£4,245 alone was raised by a charity golf day held back in July at Blackmoor Golf Club near Guildford. Supported by insurers, customers and staff, the event saw ten teams compete in the tournament and around 50 guests attend the evening dinner and auction.
Ben Wright, Head of Business at Keelan Westall, enthuses: “We are delighted to have achieved our fundraising target for 2009. We have a committee of seven employees who organise our charity events throughout the year, which involve many of our staff.
“The work of Naomi House is incredibly important and we are committed to supporting the charity for the foreseeable future. Indeed, we have further fundraising events already planned in 2010. Our next is a quiz night, which will feature over 60 staff and teams from our insurer partners.”
Keelan Westall is part of the Property & Commercial Division of Barbon Insurance Group. It entered the niche commercial property market 20 years ago but was originally established as a general brokerage in 1976. It incorporates an in-house underwriting agency and claims department, plus dedicated account management.
