Claims Service

A fire, flood or other disaster to your client’s business can be a very traumatic experience and cause major upheaval.

From the initial notification of a claim to the final settlement cheque, we provide a personal service, immediately advising you what documentation is required and pre-empting any questions the insurer might ask - enabling you to reassure your client.

We hold delegated authority status to act on behalf of certain insurers - a claim that amounts to £2,500 or less may take around 1/3 less time to settle than if it was dealt with by the insurer direct.

Our average settlement time is around nine weeks compared to 25 weeks for some insurers. At Keelan Westall, we don’t have large quantities of cheques waiting to be authorised and can usually issue payment within two days of receiving the final invoice, providing there are no queries outstanding.

Where large losses are involved, Keelan Westall can directly appoint loss adjusters for claims over £5,000 – which assists in resolving the claim quickly.

From the initial notification, we provide a single point of contact who has a good understanding of your claim and will manage your file to conclusion.

Our dedicated account handlers hold qualifications from the Chartered Insurance Institute, providing you with peace of mind that your claim will be handled by professionals.

If you need to make a claim, follow our four-step process:

  1. Call our in-house claims team on 01420 471 989 to report a new claim, download our claim form or submit it online
  2. Complete the documentation given to you by your account handler and return to Keelan Westall
  3. Obtain at least two competitive quotes for repair and/or replacement and Keelan Westall will confirm in writing that repairs may proceed (usually as per lower estimate)
  4. Upon receipt of the final invoice confirming that the works have been carried out, Keelan Westall will settle your claim
